Week 9

I can't believe that we are at the end of week 9. What a busy week for Piwakawaka. This week we celebrated a very special role model Duffy assembly Congratulations to Greer for getting our Duffy certificate this week.

The kids were very excited to get their Duffy books this week and we would like to thank Rachael for all the hard work she puts in to get the books ready for each child at Netherby School.

Netherby School had a very special visit from The New Zealand Search Dogs on Wednesday.

Week 8

What a proud moment for Mia-Grace and Mila for getting a spot on our Netherby Pride Wall this week.

Piwakawaka have been learning some fantastic netball skills this term. Thank you Natalie for being such an amazing coach!

Look at the beautiful elephants Piwakawaka made with Mrs Stevens. The children were so proud of their artwork.

Week 7

Wow, the weeks seem to be flying by and we are at the end of week 7. This week we celebrated our amazing Samoan families at Netherby School. Our beautiful Samoan tamariki were dressed in their traditional clothing and don't they just look fantastic?

Well done to Naia for receiving our Duffy award this week. Naia has been working very hard during reading time and she has improved so much. Ka pai to mahi!

Another big achievement for our Piwakawaka classroom was Blessing, Lauretta, and Kamilo receiving a spot on the Pride Wall this week. I am so proud of all the hard work they have put in.

Week 6

I don't know about you, but I can't believe we are at the end of week 6. Piwakawaka had a very busy week.

I am so proud of room 6 for hosting the assembly this week. They were great examples of what Netherby Pride looks like. Well done to each and everyone that made the assembly a success.

Thank you Mrs Stevens for helping room 6 make these beautiful works of art!

Talofa!

This week we celebrated Samoan Language Week. We loved exploring the different patterns and colours we could choose from to make our own designs.

On Wednesday we took our literacy and maths outside and the children enjoyed practicing letter formation and spelling words using chalk. What was even better was going back again to practice writing our numbers in the correct order and we challenged ourselves to see how many numbers we know. I loved to see that everyone in room 6 participated and tried their very best!

This week we started netball coaching with Natalie. Room 6 had so much fun!

Welcome to Room 6

Today we welcome Ahaan to room 6! We hope that you would have an amazing time in Room 6 and that you would enjoy your time at Netherby School. Ahaan has settled in quickly and he is a pleasure to have in the class.
